Kakamega County MP Hon Elsie Muhanda has today condemned yesterday’s fracas that was witnessed in Mayoni along Kakamega – Bungoma road, a vice she described as malicious to the youthful citizens. She also took the podium to ask her fellow politicians to engage youthful people in constructive issues instead of using them as political tools to help them clinch to their interests.
“My fellow leaders, it is my humble request that we utilize young people in positive ways such as fronting them in development-oriented programmes. This will help our economy as a county to thrive.
Her statement comes in barely one day after supporters of Senator Malala and those of CS Rashid Echesa yesterday evening clashed in Mayoni along Bungoma – Kakamega Highway.
She appealed to youths across the county to join Women, Men in her flagship programme, Kakamega County Maendeleo Sacco, an initiative she describes as a tool to economically empower people of Kakamega County.
